5What you don't know you need  Jun 22, 2008
This is one of those products that you don't even know you need! It'll be a standard shower gift for everyone I know from now on. My 6-month old was constantly trying to "help" feed himself and required clothing changes and a hose down after every feeding until we started using the spoons. I bought two and am going to be purchasing a couple more since we're using them three times a day. The only downfall, but one that's more than worth the decrease in laundry and baths, is that it is hard to get the last of the food out.

1Components come apart during first use  Jun 11, 2008
I bought this for my toddler. She loves to self-feed and is very messy in the process. Based on the photos, I thought she would be strong enough to squeeze the handle herself and the smaller amounts of food wouldn't create the same sorts of mess an entire container of baby yougurt can create. She is not strong enough to squeeze the spoon and it came apart with the first use! This item was hand washed (by me). SEcuring the compontents with tape did not help. This item has several flaws that need to be addressed before I would leave a favorable review.

1Not BPA Free  Jun 05, 2008
I almost bought this spoon but researched into whether or not it was made with Polycarbonate plastic. Based on reports, Boon will not release a BPA-Free version until Summer 2008 and the packaging will distinctly state "BPA-Free." If you're a conscientious buyer like me, you can read the article here: [...]

5Highly Recommend  May 30, 2008
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE THIS THING, great invention, portable, sanitary, no wasted baby food, no mess, no spoon and jar, everyone should have one. I make homemade baby food so it's easy to go from fridge to squirt, not sure if you use jars how practicle it would be - filling, etc., but I would imagine it's still easier in the long run. Just wish they would make an interchangable top for chunkier baby foods. Once they're off 2nd foods it's goodbye boon squirt. Still worth the low price.

2Horrible for feeders who like to take control  May 26, 2008
My daughter is one of those feeders who is easily distracted and loves to gum the spoon, "feed" herself, or play with her food. The deep concave design of the spoon makes is difficult, rather, impossible for her to scrape the food off of the spoon, so she only gets what lies above the spoon line. Because the spoon is so hard, she also can't gum it.

I also think that she is a little scared of how large the spoon is...kinda of a massive thing to put in front of a baby's face. Lastly, she loves to try to feed herself, and the Boon is simply too big for her to handle.
